Sunday afternoon we took a trip over to Hollins Mill Park in Lynchburg, VA for a afternoon getaway and were able to spot a few fish feeding just below the dam.
Ethan and I went fishing this afternoon at a small nearby pond and found that there were more than fish in the pond. Before we could launch our small boat we had to deal with a water snake that had taken shelter under the small paddle boat we were to be fishing from. Once that was dealt with we set sail and each had fun reeling in a couple decent pond fish.
After dinner Monday night we decided to check out the annual marlin tournament at Pirate’s Cove. The crew of Uno Mas brought in huge numbers with 7 marlin on the day! Unfortunately the marlin are released at sea, but we were able to grab a few pictures of a few other catches.
Well folks, we spent a week in Duck, NC and caught only one fish all week. Ben Gallier caught this “monster” Croaker late Friday morning. Though we didn’t catch much, we had a great week at the beach and can’t wait to go back soon.
After being out all night in search of a nice catfish, Blake Douglas finally caught this 29 pound cat, on the Staunton River, around 5AM. What a way to start off your birthday!
